The nation shines the light on Breast Cancer Awareness the entire month of October.

It’s an annual campaign organized by major breast cancer charities to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research to find a cure.  Many people wear pink in honor of those who are battling the disease or who have lost their life to it.  Also, many people walk for miles in honor of the fight for the cure.  The Non-profit organization, Susan G. Koman is the only organization that addresses beast cancer on multiple fronts such as research community health, global research and public policy initiatives in order to make the biggest impact against this deadly illness.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month is a yearly campaign that educates people about the importance or early screening and testing.  During Breast Cancer Awareness Month many people wear pink to onor survivors and remember those who lost their lives to the disease as well as support the progress being made to beat it.
